Here in Texas, we’re no strangers to weekends spent grilling in the backyard. Cooking up some burgers, hot dogs, or barbecue on the grill is a great way to enjoy the summer and spend time with friends and family. However, as a homeowner, there are several things to keep in mind when it comes to using your grill – regardless of whether it’s charcoal, gas, or otherwise.
First, you’ll want to ensure that your grill has plenty of space around it. It should be at least three feet away from any structure. Being too close to a building can cause serious damage. Radiant heat, smoke, and grease fires can burn, melt, or otherwise damage siding materials – yes, even stucco!
If you use a propane grill, it’s important to check the connections to make sure they’re tight. Look out for cracked or leaking hoses. Keeping your grill in good condition can not only extend its life, but it can also extend your life.
